Rayman Legends is coming out for the 100th time. A gorgeously designed game with beautiful visuals and is honestly one of the best platformers made in modern times and this classic is back again on the Nintendo Switch but this time with a definitive edition that adds barely anything new. This definitive edition adds new features for Kung Foot and other minor features. This version also has some framerate issues and loading issues. Honestly, if you have already played Rayman Legends then I don’t recommend you buy this “definitive edition” at all.
The art style in Rayman legends is beautiful. Rayman works really well in 2d and I wouldn’t mind if the next game had gorgeous 2d visuals as well. (Though a new 3D Rayman game would still be welcomed).
The music in Rayman Legends is very impressive and very catchy. The soundtrack in this game will put a smile on anyone’s face. The music is also very memorable and unique.
The level design is outstanding and most of the levels in this game are wonderfully designed. The controls are also great and the game plays very well on the Nintendo Switch. The best thing about the Switch version is the portability. This means you can bring Rayman Legends along with you and play at any time. This makes this version slightly better than the WII U version in my opinion.
Honestly not much was added in this definitive edition. It’s still the same old Rayman Legends from 2013 with a touch of spice. If you’re expecting anything really new then you’ll be extremely disappointed. The gameplay is fun and addicting and playing with friends can be awesome. A fantastic game for those who haven’t played it but at the same time a poor “definitive edition” for those who have already played it in 2013. Bring on the next Rayman game!
Rayman Legends is an outstanding game but this definitive edition is not good at all.
