Guilty Gear XRD Rev 2 Review

Guilty Gear is back again and is still a gorgeous looking game. Guilty Gear XRD Rev 2 isn’t a big update but it does add some new content to the game. If you’ve never played Guilty Gear before then this is the perfect game to get to start your Guilty Gear adventure. The art style in this game is beautiful. The game engine this game uses is magnificent. Guilty Gear XRD Rev 2 is definitely one of the best looking fighting games out there. Guilty Gear is filled with awesome combos and flashy moves and the music in this game is pretty awesome too.

There isn’t a major difference between this game and Rev 1 but Rev 2 does include 2 brand new characters. Answer and Baiken.  These 2 characters are pretty fun to play as but I felt they should have added even more characters to the roster to make it, even more, bigger maybe 5 or 6 characters. Guilty Gear Rev 2 also balances the game more and adds new moves to every single character in the roster wich is pretty damn good in my opinion.

Guilty Gear Rev 2 also includes new episode story scenes for Jam, Haehyun, Dizzy and Raven. Guilty Gear Rev 2 also includes a new after story. This new after story takes place after the main story. The character roster now has 25 characters so there is a lot of characters to choose from in Rev 2.

Overall Guilty Gear Revelator 2 is a solid addition to the already fantastic Guilty Gear XRD and this is the best version of Guilty Gear XRD so if you don’t have XRD Revelator already I recommend you buy this. That being said I do feel they should have added even more content like more characters or even more game modes but overall this is a solid addition to the Guilty Gear XRD family.

Not a big leap forward but still a solid addition. This is Guilty Gear XRD at its best.

  1. Guilty Gear was one of the first games I bought for the PS2. Loved it loads. This game looks cool, but I probably won’t play it as these days I have gone off fighting games. All these minor updates feel like companies milking players for money.
