Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a solid port and it’s a very fun and charming game overall and if you didn’t get it on the WII U then I recommend you get it on the Nintendo Switch as this port adds all the DLC from Mario Kart 8 and more. That being said. if you’ve already played the original Mario Kart 8 then I don’t fully recommend you buy this game, but if you’re looking for a fun, company-friendly game, then, by all means, purchase this game as this game is a blast to play especially with friends.
The graphics compared to the WII U version are similar but at the same time the graphics are brighter, sharper and are more vibrant and look beautiful in both docked and undocked mode. The controls are pretty much flawless on the Switch. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe also comes packed with 42 characters and 48 stages. The roster in this game is massive and there a variety of different characters choose from. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the definitive Mario Kart 8.
A new battle mode was also added and it can be extremely fun to play especially with friends. This game also runs at 60FPS in handheld mode and in docked mode which is great. The graphics in this game are great, the controls are great and the gameplay is excellent. Races can be chaotic and hectic and can be an absolute blast with company. Battle mode just adds to the fun.
Just like in Mario Kart 8 there is also an online mode. The online mode is excellent and can be good fun but I personally like to play with company. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a very good game all around that being said I felt they should have added even more courses as the courses are familiar if you’ve played the original Mario Kart 8 on the WII U. Overall a very good game recommended to people who haven’t played Mario Kart 8. If you’ve already played it on the WII U I don’t really think this is a must purchase but if you want to have fun with friends and enjoy a hectic online mode then I recommend you buy this game again. Mario Kart 8 is another great game for the Nintendo Switch.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a great game and a solid port. Recommended to everyone who hasn’t played Mario Kart 8.
