Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness Review (PS4)

Star Ocean Integrity and Faithlessness is a pretty decent game, but it does unfortunately have a lot of flaws and these flaws are very important flaws. First, let’s talk about the graphics. The graphic’s in the game are amazing, but the character models look very weird. The terrible character models are especially noticeable on Miki. Don’t get me wrong, she has a great design, but the character model just looks out of place. Not all the models look bad like for example the character model on Fidel looks pretty good. Overall the graphic’s in Star Ocean Integrity and Faithlessness are fantastic excluding the horrible character models. This game is one of the better looking JRPG’s.

The music in Star Ocean Integrity and Faithlessness is beautiful. The soundtrack is one of the best things going for this game. I can listen to the soundtrack for hours. Most of the tracks in this game sound nice, calm and peaceful. My favorite track in the game is the battle theme. I really like the way the battle theme is nice and upbeat. Overall the music in Star Ocean Integrity and Faithlessness is stunning. Now let’s talk about the the battle system. The battle system in my opinion is fine but it has a lot of flaws. The game allows you to have 7 characters fighting at once and you may think that’s a good thing but to be honest it’s not.

The reason for this is because the game suffers from terrible camera angles. The terrible camera angles are caused by the amount of characters in your party fighting at once. The camera angles are really bad and you know that’s disappointing. The poor camera angles make the game less enjoyable which is a shame. Overall the battle system wasn’t great and it could have been better if the camera angles were good. The idea of 7 characters fighting at once isn’t bad. It’s the camera angles that’s making it bad

The story in the game isn’t great and unfortunately the story isn’t long either which is extremely disappointing. Oddly enough, this game will take you 1-2 days to beat and that’s disgraceful for a JRPG. The game has side missions, which can be fun at times, but 20hrs isn’t right for a JRPG. The game also suffers from lack of content which is a shame. Star Ocean Integrity and Faithlessness is not the Star Ocean game I was expecting, I was expecting so much more. If your a hardcore JRPG fan then maybe pick this up. If you’re not a hardcore JRPG fan then I recommend you skip this one or wait for a price drop because this game isn’t worth $60. This is not the Star Ocean game I was expecting.

The Good

Star Ocean Integrity and Faithlessness had so much potential. The game looks stunning but there are way too many flaws for this game to be a good game.
